Why Sweet Relief ?

Breastfeeding, chestfeeding and/or pumping, whether exclusively or in combination with supplementation, can be beautiful experiences- but RARELY are they seamless. Yes! Our bodies are usually made to feed our infants, AND a little and sometimes a lot of hands-on assistance, reassurance and instructions can be pivotal in some of the most wonderful and exhausting moments to weeks to months following birth.

Whether for a prenatal visit to develop and discuss your personal goals, or for help once your newest family member has arrived; whether you’re experiencing pain or are ready to end your journey- I THANK YOU for allowing me to meet you right where you are, and bring some much deserved sweet relief.

  • "Your humor and warmth and patience made us feel so comfortable and so SEEN even in an impersonal environment."

    -Maggie Downey

  • "Breastfeeding was intimidating to me...You made me feel like I could do it and helped me find a comfortable position, even with a c-section."

    Maggie Downey

  • "Moriah was very competent. The plan that we developed helped me communicate with my doctors. She even checked in & made sure I was doing well personally. All of the services provided has helped me meet my goals."

Virtual Visits

Face to face assessments and conversation with the help of modern technology.

**I may recommend against virtual appointments for certain circumstances for best outcome.

Home Visit

I will meet you where you are, in the comfort of your own home, to perform skilled assessments and hands-on assistance, bringing any possibly helpful or necessary tools along with me.

Home vs Virtual Visit

Services Offered- Just to name a few…

  • Oral Assessment of Infant

Assessing for any restrictions or suck patterns that may be interfering with milk transfer.

  • Hand Expression

Hand expression can be useful to collect and store human milk prior to delivery, and post birth when having difficulty latching.

  • Weighted Feeds

A little bit of quantitative data can be helpful in giving a lot of information about a feed.

  • Supplemental Feeding

As needed, syringes, cups, bottles, or a feeding system at the breast can be great tools for feeding your infant.

  • Breast Assessment

We’re all born with a pair but they come in all sizes, and don’t always match and often can change dramatically when pregnant and post birth.

  • Pump Fitting/Setup

Ensuring you are properly fitted and knowing how to navigate and troubleshoot goes a long way when ready to begin using your personal pump.

  • Prenatal Visit

Let’s get to know each other! Having talked about feeding your baby ahead of time will pay off tremendously post-birth! I’ll asses your breasts/chest, we’ll review your history and your goals for feeding your baby. After a mini, one on one breast/chestfeeding class, we can take a look at your pump if you have one, or talk about any other tools/questions you may have.

    (60 min)

  • Initial Post Birth Visit

Now it’s time to meet that baby! It’s probably been a few days to a little over a week from birth- let’s see how its going! We’ll review your birth story, assess your post-birth breasts/chest and infant’s oral cavity, as well as assist with or reassure you during a feed or pump session. I’ll create a care plan for the feeding parent and baby and plan for our follow up visit.

    (60 - 90 min)

  • Follow-up Visit

At this point- we’re family! During this visit we’ll review techniques, re-assess breasts/chest and nipples, check infant weight status as needed, make changes to the care plan and decide if additional visits are needed/wanted.

    (30 - 60min)
